Opened in 2014, Court Street Custom Framing is owned and operated by Danielle Kilmer.

Hello! I am Danielle Kilmer, the owner of Court Street Custom Framing. People often ask how I came to be a picture framer. The short answer is that picture framing is a combination of three things I love—art, woodworking, and interior design—and good timing.

I grew up here in mid-Missouri, went to MU, and then lived in the San Francisco Bay Area of California for 15 years, where I was a healthcare/institutional interior designer. While in California, I also devoted myself to learning and practicing woodworking, furniture design for cats, photography, and painting. After moving back to Missouri, I was excited to be starting a new chapter and was dreaming of starting a new business of my own. I became involved in the downtown revitalization effort in the Brick District in Fulton, including volunteering in a nonprofit community art gallery. When the art gallery needed tenants to support their mission, the idea of putting my interests and capabilities all together into a picture framing shop clicked! Off to picture framing boot camp I went, and slowly I learned the specifics of the craft.

With my background and over a decade of experience, I bring a professional eye and craftsmanship to your framing projects. I consider it a privilege to be in a position to hear the stories behind your most cherished items, then give them the care and attention they deserve so they are safely preserved, displayed, and appreciated for years to come.
